New WIP in Acrylic

This is a real experiment! So far it's fluid acrylics and used dryer sheets on canvas. I don't know where I am going with this one yet. I want to bring in more of the brown as in the lower right hand corner... and I will take it from there.

New WIP in Colored Pencil

This is a Tupelo tree, or Black Gum, in my back yard. It has always been my favorite tree through all the seasons. The leaves are bright green in the spring and turn to rich yellows, oranges and reds in the fall. And all throughout the season the leaves are very shiny. Last fall I took several pictures of the leaves with the intent on drawing some of them - this is the beginning.

I finally finished it!

16" x 20" Mixed Media
(Tissue paper, Fluid Acrylics and colored pencil on canvas)

Social interaction and communication with other artists is so important. I don't think I would have ever finished this painting without the inspiration and encouragement of my friend Kathleen.
