Also called "Confederate Rose", this one is blooming in my son's front yard. I took a few pictures, thinking about some quick sketching or maybe even future drawing projects. We will see, I have other things on my mind right now.

It is getting cold tonight, down into the low 40s. I know it is not freezing yet, but I don't know what temperatures gourd plants can deal with. Anyway, it won't be long before we will have our first frost, and I will be ready...... now I just have to remember not to remove the plastic top cover on a nice sunny day or I will have cooked gourds ;)

Actually, this is the second bloom. I missed the first one due to work, weather and other interruption. I never thought, when I planted these seeds, that I would actually see them bloom this soon. Now the questions is, can I keep them blooming or otherwise alive. Tonight we are expenting a temperature of 38 F or hereabouts.
I wonder what temperatures gourds can withstand???
