I feel I have done everything wrong working on this picture. I have to finish it though. I can't take it off the drawing board until then. It's a personal thing with me.
"Finish what you start"? Some sort of cliche drilled into me when I was little, I am sure.
Don't ask me why I am having such a difficult time with the image, I don't know. It's not that I don't like it. I have a "block" and that is the reason for my problem with this image.
Maybe it is the color pink, which has never been a favorite of mine??
Maybe it is because my mind is already racing ahead to "greener fields" so to speak, different ideas and images that want me to "get it over with" and start on something new??

I decided to move ahead with the cherries. I could not stand the thougth of not finishing. I worked quite a bit on it this weekend, and so far I like the results. I am not giving up on the mandala. I made a few quick sketches in my sketchbook/journal of ideas and will decide after I am done with the cherry blossoms.
I like the darker background much better, also the illusion of branches and blossom clusters.
